Description

This individual wheel is out of print. You can find it in Collected Wheels BW24 Vol XXIV

The translated teachings in this 54-page booklet are excerpts from thirteen talks of one of modern Thailand's foremost woman teachers of Dhamma. Topics include: the practice in brief; a basic order in life; every inbreath and outbreath; the details of pain; the deceits of knowing; and reading the heart. Each chapter is short, lucid, thought provoking, and penetrating, gently nudging the meditator to deeper practice.
The author, Kor Khao-suang-luang (1901-1978), established a women's center for the practice of Dhamma in the forested hill of Rajburi. On Observance days both men and women were welcome to visit to listen to her talks. Her published poetry was widely distributed.
"If we know how to observe things in this way, we'll easily be able to see when the mind is provoked by passion or greed, and even more easily when it's provoked by anger. As for delusion, that's something more subtle something you're to take a great interest in and investigate carefully. You'll come to see all sorts of hidden things how the mind is covered with many, many layers of film. It's really fascinating. But then that's what insight meditation is for to open our eyes so that we can know and see, so that we can destroy our delusion and ignorance." (p. 42)
