US Fulbright Scholar Ven. Bhikkhu Mihita is the former Suwanda H. J. Sugunasiri, Canadian Buddhist scholar. Founder of the Nalanda College of Buddhist Studies, Toronto, he is the founding editor of the Canadian Journal of Buddhist Studies. Featured in Canadian Who’s Who as a ‘multidisciplinologist’, he comes with several academic degrees: London (BA); Pennsylvania (MA); Toronto (MEd, MA, PhD). His most recent initiative was as Founder, Buddhist Literary Festival Canada (2021). Lifelong non-smoker and teetotaler, he was ordained at the ripe old age of 82.
