Description

This Wheel is out of print. It is, however, part of the Collected Wheel series (Vol 22).

A collection of inspiring verses (providing the Pāli with English translations facing) from scattered parts of the Sutta Pitaka of the Pāli Canon; arranged in groupings similar to the Dhammapada: insight, silence, happiness, love, oneself and others, mindfulness, effort, etc. With the same poetry and wisdom as the more famous Dhammapada, this collection fulfils the wish of its compiler/translator Ven. S. Dhammika: to present these verses "in such a way that they may enrich the faith and understanding of those who read them."

A valuable volume for the student of Pāli; for those who appreciate the poetic and moral literature of the world's great faiths; and for those walking the path of Dhamma.

"104. My mind is firm like a rock, unattached to sensual things, not shaking in the midst of a world where all is shaking. My mind has thus been well-developed, so how can suffering come to me?" (p. 40)
