Description

Francis Story (Anagarika Sugatananda), 1910 - 1971, was one of the early Europeans to thoroughly study Buddhism in India, Sri Lanka and Burma by immersing himself in it. He had a particular fascination with the memories of rebirth that he encountered in Burma. He wrote prolifically about his experiences and remains one of the most lucid Western writers about Buddhism, often taking a scientific approach to his subject. This collection of his essays explaining the Buddhist doctrine of rebirth, including documented case studies, is the second volume of three in his collected writings. The introduction to this book is by Ian Stevenson, M.D., from the University of Virginia Medical School. Dr. Stevenson and Francis Story collaborated in researching and documenting case studies of rebirth. The other books in the Francis Story trilogy of Collected writings are The Buddhist Outlook and Dimensions of Buddhist Thought.
