El tiempo de Vipassana ha llegado fue publicado primero en Italiano, con el título de Il Tempo della Meditazione Vipassana é Arrivato, en Italia en 1993 por la editorial Ubaldini Editore, Roma.
Pierluigi Confalonieri, quien compiló y editó el material, es un muy antiguo estudiante de Vipassana que fue nombrado profesor asistente por S. N. Goenka en 1994. Es también el traductor y autor de otros dos libros sobre la Vipassana. L Arte di Vivere (Biblioteca Universale Rizzoli, 1990) que es la traducción al Italiano de The Art of Living (El Arte de Vivir) de William Hart; y La Saggezza che Libera (Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, 1995) que se enfoca en algunos de los importantes suttas del Buddha.
La presente edición es una traducción al Español de los textos y los discursos de Sayagyi U Ba Khin, y de la entrevista con Goenkaji que el Sr. Confalonieri condujo para este libro, originalmente en Inglés; y de los fragmentos escritos por el Sr. Confalonieri originalmente en Italiano.
Aunque en los textos originales siempre se usa el lenguaje haciendo referencia a ambos géneros, tanto femenino como masculino; para facilitar su comprensión, en esta versión se han omitido ciertas repeticiones que resultarían redundantes en español.
Durante el período en el que vivió U Ba Khin, su país, Myanmar, era conocido como Birmania. Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India's most ancient techniques of meditation. More information about Vipassana as taught by S.N. Goenka is available at www.dhamma.org.

This kind of intellectual exploration also helps a meditator to gain an understanding of the evolution and historical context of their meditation tradition. This understanding in turn deepens their practice and understanding of the Dhamma.
