Each chapter is set in order by the number of divisions for each type of classification. For example, chapter 1 is titled \u003cem\u003eDivision of Human Types by One\u003c\/em\u003e and gives 50 types of persons designated with particular quality or characteristic with only \u003cem\u003eone\u003c\/em\u003e division or specification for each type: \u003cem\u003eWhat sort of person is one of perturbable nature? What sort of person is restrained by fear? What sort of person is an eye-witness?\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach chapter increases the number of specifications by one additional division for each type of human being. Chapter 2 is titled \u003cem\u003eDivision of Human Types by Two\u003c\/em\u003e and gives 27 types of persons each with \u003cem\u003etwo\u003c\/em\u003e divisions: \u003cem\u003eWhat sort of person is angry? ...is a slanderer? What sort of person is crafty? ...is deceitful? Which two persons are easily satisfied?\u003c\/em\u003e Chapter 3 is titled \u003cem\u003eDivision of Human Types by Three\u003c\/em\u003e and gives 17 types of persons having a particular characteristic of \u003cem\u003ethree\u003c\/em\u003e divisions: \u003cem\u003eWhat sort of person is hopeless? ...is hopeful? ...is he who has lost hope? What sort of person is 'foul-mouthed'? ...a 'flower-speaker'? ...'honey-tongued'? Who are the three teachers?\u003c\/em\u003e And so on.
