Ian M. McCrorie (Ontario, 1947) studied philosophy and political science at Carleton University in Ottawa, and elementary education at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario.
He traveled the world, studied with renowned teachers, lived as a recluse in meditation, and returned to the householder's life. He and his family live in Ottawa, Ontario, where he works as a writer/editor and very occasionally fronts a band to perform jazz narratives. Most recently he was driving for a ride-hail company—little money, many stories.
Mr. McCrorie's first book of poetry, The Moon Appears When the Water is Still, is one of Pariyatti's most popular titles. His second book, a collection of Dhamma reflections, is titled Children of Silence and Slow Time. His third book is forthcoming.
