François, Andrée & Goldberg, Kory
As a child in France, Andrée François’s passion for art began as she drew and painted her classmates at school. Her artistic skills rapidly evolved and as a young woman her work was exhibited in galleries throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America. In 1988, her art earned her a silver medal in France, and her work is filed at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. For the past twenty-five years Andrée has been traveling and teaching art on five continents. Andrée currently resides in Igatpuri, India where she spends her days meditating and painting.
When not meditating, serving at Vipassana centres, leading pilgrimages, or coaching his daughter’s soccer team, Kory Goldberg teaches courses on sustainability, ethics, and religion in the Humanities and Liberal Arts programs at Champlain College in St-Lambert, Québec.
Kory is the co-author of Along the Path: The Meditator’s Companion to Pilgrimage in India and Nepal (2009; 2022), written with his wife Michelle Décary. Kory has published articles on Vipassana meditation, socially engaged Buddhism, Buddhist pilgrimage, and environmental education in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes. He also serves as general editor of the Pariyatti Journal.
In 2009, Kory and Michelle founded www.aupetitboise.com, a permaculture market garden that provided food for fifty local families, hosted educational tours, and trained young interns. As of 2025, Au Petit Boisé has transitioned from a commercial venture into a community homestead project involving nine families and interns.
In his free time away from the screen, Kory can usually be found taking long walks with his dog, playing games with his two teenagers, or puttering around the garden.
