English translation of the Dhammasangani. The first volume of the Abhidhamma pitaka is a compilation from various sources analyzing and classifying the phenomena (dhamma) that comprise all mental and material conditions.

I have a older copy of this book (1970) that is still in great shape in spite of its travels. Mrs. C.A. Rhys Davis is delightful to read. The language and idioms are a bit dusty (1900) but add to its charm. I thoroughly recommend this text to anyone with an interest in the Abhidhamma who, like myself, lacks the ability to read the original Pāli.
